Leaving the Seven: The Days Long Gone Free Download, I thought I’d just seen a condensed version of a colossal project mixing different genres without feeling that it was getting embossed. By forcing a little, you could summarize Seven to a clever mix of Assassin’s Creed, Hitman and Commandos in a post-apocalyptic universe. You play as a master thief possessed by a demon which earned you a one-way (and without delay!) To Peh prison island in the Vetrall Empire. From there, you are left to yourself in an open world to free. Sliced into seven large areas, Seven’s world will feature about 80 quests including a dozen major and like any RPG to do you what you want in the order you want.
Your walks in these isometric 3D environments will be free, most environments will be visited thanks to a system of displacement allowing to climb and to jump on almost everything. This freedom of movement unlocks a range of possibilities such as discreet killings, distance shots and basic bypass for discreet advancement. If ever the smell of blood is too strong, you can use a lot of weapons such as daggers, axes, grenades and crossbows – remote weapons have a cooldown and can have an autolock – then you can hide or even trap bodies. To help you to satisfy your impulses, your improvements (and surely your demon) allow you to manipulate the time either by stopping it to visualize your environment, or by making it advance (to spend a night or to wait for a guard ), or by creating spheres of manipulation that slow down or accelerate the time inside. If you prefer the gentle way, it is quite possible to eliminate your opponents noiselessly then take their clothes to attempt an infiltration like Agent 47.
To switch certain areas, you will have to unlock zones either by hooking doors (a drill is usable but makes more noise) or by hacking electronic objects like cameras using a simple mini-game and not at all boring. However this roundabout way will not be the only one available because you will very well find keys or cards resulting to the same thing: to you to look everywhere or to make the pockets of some guards. To help you in this task, the developers of Fool’s Theory have added the functionality that had debated in Hitman Absolution: the sense mode. By engaging this mode, a kind of wave starts from your character and reveals the main interactive systems like computers to hack the cameras (we see the connections between the machines).
This research is very important because as described earlier, there are seven areas in Seven: The Days Long Gone, all visitable provided you have a visa that will have to be found. It is always possible to walk freely but you can imagine very well what can happen if you get caught. It was of course without counting on the developers who, it seems, thought of everything because one can recover passes and clone them. Still with the idea of helping you, your character can be improved using chips to install where each system can accommodate three modifications in the skill tree of the game. Finally, many resources can be harvested to haggle or create new objects useful for adventure through a classic craft system.
Beyond this long presentation, the developers took advantage to present several situations like the infiltration of an evening or a fight against a boss. The first mission could be summarized simply by what we know about the license of IO Interactive, namely a large building to visit, several floors and restricted areas. The demonstrator showed us the various behaviors of the AI which is alerted to the slightest suspicious behavior with several states as in Metal Gear Solid.
We are also promised the presence of fast trips to unlock but also the equivalent of faults to break the monster with the shovel. Seven: The Days Long Gone with all its promises and mixing is not very evident, it is scary and announce a future crust except that the segments presented work very well, the game is pretty and seems appreciable in hand. All that remains is to wait for a potential release date.
Once the alarm is activated, the enemies will search for you and you will hide long enough to make you forget. Level design is one of Seven’s great successes because the building offers many opportunities between discretion and pitched battle. The other section showed us facing a giant spider and its cubs. The fight was complex even for a person from the studio but it was voluntary to present us the powers offered to our hero. As the game is compatible with the controller, a skill wheel is accessed in-game to quickly launch capabilities like invisibility.
