Two years ago, Electronic Arts took advantage of the E3 to unveil Unravel, a true “independant deposit” of the publisher who launched for the occasion its program EA Originals. For example, our hero was able to extricate himself from the clutches of a bear by throwing his favorite treat in another direction to divert his attention. Finally, the final sequence reminded us of the good memories of the productions Ghibli or Shadow of the Colossus, since it was a question of saving a huge stag in the traps of the voiceless before going to speak to him after a climbing session on his back.
A sequence once again very successful at the contemplative level, also supported by the superb color palette used here and the surprising design of the animals of the forest. It is on the other hand on the question of the grip that the interrogations remain, the few sequences unveiled did not allow us to gauge the real depth of the mechanics, in spite of some laudable intentions which will incite us to keep an eye on Fe d here his exit.
If we have not yet been able to take it in hand, Fe has made a good first impression with his shimmering universe, his hero whose voice will immediately unmute a smile and its contemplative charm. It only remains for him to convince us about his mechanics of play, which it is difficult to judge the depth on such a short session, especially with regard to sequences shown that were still particularly simplistic. We should know more about it by its release, expected for next year on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
